New Member Looking For A Little Information

I'm a new member and looking for information. I have inherited a Remington Model 510 and the only markings I can find other then general model number stamping are on the side of the barrel "nkP" Can someone tell me the meaning of this stamping. Additionally, I'm looking for a replacement butt plate (plastic) for this rifle. I have grand kids that I want to start teaching with this one. Great little single shot. Thanks...Chris

Chris, my guess is the 'nkP' you see is an inspection mark applied during assembly. You can click on the link below for a buttplate to fit a Remington Model 510.

That is normally a letter date code.
But yours doesn't agree with any Remington production date codes I have access to.
They were made from 1939-1962.
