So I have just joined and figured it would be nice to introduce myself.

I am 19 and have recently got into firearm's and shooting, I know basic's but I am still learning so bare with me and be prepared for some question's...even the occasional "duh" type question's. I've been interested for a long time but it has only really been recently that I have had a chance to really start getting into firearm's and shooting when I inherited a nice starter collection-

30-30 Winchester Model 94
AR-7
Springfield Model 84c
And for handgun's a Mauser 7.65 and a S&W .38 Special

So yeah...that's about it

Good to meet you- let me know if I can help! I'm 25 and have been shooting for 23 years. Also have a AR-7 (Charter :) ) and love it!

Again- welcome aboard!

Anthony

Ah.

Mine a few week's ago I went to shoot for the first time and every round refused to load properly. I'm still waiting on some money to take it to a gun smith and find out if it is the gun or if it just didn't like the ammo (used federal).

I could always try just using a different brand but I don't feel like a face full of shrapnel from an exploaded gun barrel just to find out

Have you cleaned it? Are the mag lips bent? Some ar7's don't feed well if the mag lips are bent- this is more pronounced withe ar7 than other guns as there is no feed ramp for the rifle.-inspect your mags.. Also smack the back of the loaded mag against your palm prior to loading.

Hope this helps :)

yes well cleaned and I tried everything from whacking it to actualy taking the barrel off and pushing the sucker in there manualy. Didn't work each time it stopped at the ned of the bullet and hte begining of the casing. Also there is a very noticable scratch on the bulle. Also it is hard to tell but it looks as if there may be a very small burr (not really a burr but it's the closest term I can think of) so I will be taking it to a gun smith to find out when I have some extra cash. Till then I still have my springfield which is 22 long as well. I jsut need to find a mag for the springfield.

Welcome to the team! I'm sure you'll find all the answers to your questions and much much more here.

And remember, the new guy buys the ammo! ;)

and take a few pokes at the new guy :D . Welcome, there is a great group of folks to bounce ideas/questions off of here.
