New Mexico State Park LEO shoots man

I am begining to think several members of this board have gone off the deep end.
First its how us JBT's are trained to attack and kill. Then its how we always walk away scot-free when we murder innocent citizens. Despite the fact every cop on these boards figured the shoot was bad but just wanted more info before nailing the ranger to a cross. Then the ranger gets arrested and held on $100,000.00 bond, and we hear how much worse it would have been if a citizen had been charged with the same crime.
I am going to know say the hate for police on this board has gone to never before seen levels and most of it is far fatched drivel. Look at how many officers there are in this county then who many even commit crimes and violate people rights. It is a very small percent, we just hear about it because it is always high profile. It is not most cops on the majority of officer like the people here believe. Just like gun-owners, very few will ever do anything wrong but when someone with a CCW permits breaks the law it is always the first thing mentioned in the news.

A local paper has it that on 12 Dec. Officer Clyde Woods was arrested, charged with 2nd degree murder, bail set at $100,000, for shooting Bruce Teschner twice in the back. Woods comments included, "not to worry he's dead." and "I should have killed him the first time". Woods obtained an attorney and was not willing to provide a statement, went home washed his hands and changed his clothes before being photographed.

see front page and page 3.

and more here: http://www.gpkmedia.com/

It took 4 months for any word to be made public.
Locally the story was Woods might get off, and that if it hadn't been an L.E.officer it would have already been very public news, charged with 1st degree murder not 2nd, and the wheels of justice would have rollled alot faster on a non LEO.

Shot twice in the back....

Could have been in a hand to han struggle when this occured(sp) for all the speculators around here. How does everyone know he was walking away?

What do you suppose would happen to a concealed weapons permit holder who shot an [alleged] attacker twice in the back?

Who do you think would fare better in court? Park Ranger/Cop or Civilian? Whose word will the court respect more? Say there is no conclusive evidence, but the shooters own statments. Who will receive the greater grilling and scrutiny? The Park Ranger, or the Civilian?

Do you think the police forensic team will work extra hard for the civilian to try and prove his innocence or his guilt? I'd say guilt. Do you think the police forensic team will work extra hard for the Park Ranger to try and prove his innocence or his guilt? I'd say innocence.

The only reason this is going to trial is because there isn't any amount of forensic work that can hide or create doubt that this was cold-blooded murder. The State cannot cover for its boy. He's going to have to answer.

Had a concealed carrier done this, there would be no "surrendering yourself"...they would have cuffed you on day 1, and you be in the slammer waiting trial. This guy got the benefit of the doubt.

That is favoritism, and "JBT'ism" as I see it.

State Parks director Dave Simon says criminal charges constitute an extremely serious situation and the division is following the matter closely.

Simon says Woods’ law enforcement powers have been suspended and he remains on paid leave until the division can review the findings of a state police investigation and conduct its own review.
Let's see ... would that be the same State Parks Director Dave Simon who earlier said this?
After the shooting, Parks Director Dave Simon said, "Deadly force is always a last resort." He added that the "vast majority of park users comply willingly with park fees."
Unsaid: "And if zey don't comply willingly, vee haff ozzer methods ..."
