Anybody seen these in person? or used them?
I think it is cool that Ruger is making a scout rail setup for the Mini now, and i like the way they've done it- just replaces the heat shield. Should have a nice fit and appearance when installed.

I like it, right now have a jack weigand mount on my mini-30 works great
but willing to try the new ruger set up after I see price.:D

Sort of a similar question. I have a 44 Deerfield and I have wanted to put a red dot on it. It has Ruger's proprietary mount onit. I have seen a replacement mount for the ranch rifles and these seem to share a mounting system with the Deerfield. Would one of these work on the Deerfield?

Looks like that is the Amega Ranges Mini Scout Mount with the Ruger Logo on it instead of the Amega Ranges Logo. It's a good mount solid, It will also help dissipate heat from the barrel as well as function as a mount. It will add weight to the mini as it is heavier than the stock mount. Amega Ranges also makes the claim that it will improve accurracy as it acts as a barrel strut on the lower part of the barrel between the chamber and gas block. The same mount direct from Amega Ranges is $20 less, $159 for the newer series 580+ flanged barrel minis. $149 for the earlier series minis.
This mount works great, as does the Ultimak scout mount. The Ultimak sits a little lower than the Amega. The Amega has a groove cut out for Iron sights which is nice.
I'm glad to see Ruger offering it, one other great thing about this mount is that it is proudly made in the USA!
