I know the new Winchester Model 70 made by FN has been out for a while but I haven't heard anything about it. Of course I just learned that FN owns Winchester and that they stopped making the model 70 a few years ago. I'm just wondering if anybody has looked in to them.

I have a new fn fwt 300 win mag and its a real nice rifle(smooth action action, crisp trigger and really nice fit and finish). They seem to be really accurate from what I read from other people who own them, mine included.I will probably buy a fwt 22-250 when they'll be available.

I've handled a few of the wood stocked Featherweights and 1 stainless /synthetic. The wood on the ones I saw was average and I did not care for the Bell and Carlson stock on the synthetic. The actions felt great however and the reports I have read on the net of owners indicates they are extremely accurate. At around $800 they seem like a good gun for the money. I am probably going to have to find a way to justify buying one.

You can get a wood and finish upgrade in the Featherweight for a couple hundred.

I have handled a couple, and they're nice. I just don't think they'd be any nicer than the regular model, after they'd seen a little use in the dirt.:)

Cabela's sells the regular FWT for $700.

The couple of new ones I`ve looked at seemed well done and the reports in the gun rags and various forums I`ve read all are positive.
Gander Mountian here had a few new FN build feather wgts for $995 as I recall this past winter.
