Okay, I want to start off by saying that YES...I have looked into this, and YES I am aware that you have to remove the wooden dowel rod that comes from the factory. My problem is simple...I just cant get it out. No matter how much (soft or hard) I shake it when its upside down, the dowel just wont come out. i must have spent about 2 hours trying to do so between myself and two other friends. Am I doing something wrong maybe?

I guess the point of this is simple...is there any easier way/trick to getting this to come out other than just "Shaking It"?

Here's another link to help reference what I'm talking about:

you gotta take the little stick out of the tube magazine. take the barrel off and there is a little wooden dowel inside the tube mag, after that it should be 5+1

correct...my problem is that I cant get it out...any suggestions on how to go about doing it...

you need to take the cap off the end of the magazine.

there will be a sheet metal plug in the end of the barrel. use pliers or a screw driver to pull it out. BE CAREFUL! its under spring tension! DON'T POINT IT AT YOUR FACE WHILE DOING THIS!

when the little metal plug comes out, the spring will be released from the mag tube. Remove the dowel. reassemble in reverse.

actually the dowel is smaller than the screw hole where the barrel attaches, so I just held it upside down and shook it around and the dowel fell out...

any suggestions on how to go about doing it...

Remove the barrel from the gun and grip the receiver between your knees with the mag tube facing up. Grip it hard. Unscrew the mag tube from the receiver. If it won't come out the hole, that's the only other method there is.

You know what...I feel dumb...Thank you Rich (RandalKL) that got it out.

Problem ended up being that whoever assembled the shotgun got the spring all twisted up around the dowel rod. Much better feed for each round now that I got it straightened out now as well.

Thank you guys for your help...this just goes to show, when in doubt, turn to the high road and you'll be back in business in about 5 min...

Have you tried taking the barrel off, and then LOADING THREE ROUNDS? It ought to push the dowel out of the screw hole. If not, then you DO have to take the mag tube off because it somehow isn't aligned with the hole anymore.

No biggy, AWO. When you replace the tube, just put it tight hand tight. Use no tools. That's a steel tube and a threaded aluminum hole. Too much force is a bad thing.
