I just picked up a new/old Smith and Wesson Mod 29-2, pinned and recessed. I got a very sweet deal and could not pass it up. I've been lusting after a 4 inch 29 for ages, but this one demanded that I take it home despite the longer tube. The gun is fitted with a 5 inch full underlug barrel with the original 6.5 inch tube in the case with the gun. Bluing is original and flawless with the exception of a minor drag line around the cylinder and a small blemish on the 5 inch tube (and I mean small, looks like a pin head). Lock up is nice and tight, the action is INCREDIBLE (why aren't they still like this?), and the barrel cylinder gap is perhaps the tightest I've ever seen on a double action revolver. The gun was owned by a very nice elderly gentleman who seldom fired it. It would fit in in a case of new guns. Its that nice. I can't wait to get my hands on some Keith style 44 spl loads and take it out to the farm. Just had to share.
