New owner of a 10/22

Well guys I just broke down and bought my boss's 10/22. I traded 50 pounds of hamburger and 250 bucks for a SS 10/22 with scope, sling, and trigger job (done by gunsmith set around 2 pounds)... The stock he said is a special addition stock but I am skeptical on that. I didn't buy it for the stock. I bought it because it is in GREAT shape and I needed a 22lr... the stock will prolly get replaced at some point. It is a black synthetic stock and the buttstock in indented and has RUGER in the indention ... anybody seen this stock before? Any value to it? I would be willing to sell it if it does have value because it doesn't fit me well.

The stock sounds like what is referd to as the boat paddle stock. Ruger ran those on the SS rifles across the line some years back. There kinda cool look'n today and do keep it. You just don't see many. Or mail it to me, hehe. Your reciever is aliuminum not ss and painted to look like bead blasted ss. 2lb trigger ? sound right nice. Try a buch of different ammo and give it some time to get setted to the different brand before desideing if it likes it. You could find one brand shoots 2" at 50yards and several shot 1.25" with maybe one that does even better. If it not a shooter over at rimefire central a member that goes by nemohunter i believe recuts the crown and rechambers them so they will shoot real reather well. Clark customs also does this and neather cost much to improve accuracy With it choice of ammo after a tuneup you might get groups around 5/8" to an 1" at 50 yards,maybe. Lots of guys have good luck with cci subsonic and standard, wolf and sk but try most all, you never know. Now the fun begines, enjoy. post a pic when you can.

He didn't do you any favors on the price. These are $213 locally, brand new. Hope it has a good scope on it to make up for it. Since you already have a 2lb trigger, I suggest shooting the snot out of it before doing anything else to it. Find out what it needs first.
