I was picking up some shoes at the local Big 5 Sporting Goods store tonite. I wondered over to the knifes and noticed one in particular. The main thing that caught my eye was the $15.00 on sale price.

I have not carried a knife, but there have been many times I wished I had one for utility purposes. Not to mention back up self defence.

Anyway, this knife does not have a serraded portion. The blade, when folded sits on the side of the handle and does not tuck between the handle like most pocket knifes. Also interesting to me is the fact that you only sharpen one side of it. I put a pretty serious edge on it with a set of Crock Sticks.

The knife is a "limited edition" Sampson K.I.S.S. model. It has a 3 inch blade. It is black and the clip is gold. The clip looks like it was set up to be a money clip. It clips nicely on the outside of my front pocket.

I couldn't find it on the CRKT website. It is probably not the knife I would have chosen if I had time to research it more. But for a $15.00 impulse buy....... How did I do? Anybody have any thoughts on these knifes?

had one and it was my favorite pocket knife untill i lost it somewhere around gunnison colo, then replaced it with a little spring assist kershaw and like it now.

you only sharpen one side of it? You mean a chisel edge? Do yourself a favor and "fix" the knife by sharpening it correctly with a cantled edge. A chisel edge is only done by knife manufacturers to save money and is in fact a disadvantage when it comes to cutting power.

No, with the KISS you only sharpen one side and then hone the other. One side remains flat to keep it up against the frame. The Kiss only has a frame and no scales to guard the blade when folded. That's one of the things I liked about the KISS... back when I bought when it fist came out for 45 bucks.

15!

:banghead:

ah, nothing to guard your fingers other than it staying flat against the side. Ignore previous statement.

It's a good knife. The reason you couldn't find it on the CRKT website is that they discontinued it. As long as you don't expect to open a coconut with it (they actually had some idget try that and complain when the knife broke) you've got yourself a good knife.

I've carried one for two years now and I use it as a money clip. I hope to never lose it (along with my money!) especially now that it's discontinued.

It's been very handy because I always carry it (with my cash).
