Please recommend a money-clip knife

Hi, guys.

I've been carrying a pocket knife since I was a kid. For the last 10 years or so, the traditional slip-join folder has been replaced by one-hand opening, locking knives. I'm partial to Microtech, Benchmade, and Spyderco.

In addition to a mid-size folder, I've been carrying a CRKT K.I.S.S. as a money clip. I figured, I carry a money clip anyway...why not make it useful?

Problem is, I'm not crazy about the K.I.S.S. as a knife. The locking mechanism is weak. The blade is WAY too chunky: unnecessarily thick with a very steep primary grind. Very difficult to slice cleanly through anything. And the tanto tip is useless. The broad, flat design and wide clip make it terrific as a money clip. But it's pretty useless as a knife.

I figure a small knife should be slim, with a thin edge, and razor sharp. Can someone recommend a money clip knife that actually works well as a knife?

I've used the Spyderco Dragonfly as a moneyclip.
The stainless steel model has a steel clip that screws on. Its quite a bit heavier than the FRN modet but the clip is much less likely to break.


I prefer the lighter FRN model myself.

Wow! That looks nice. Should make for a nice money-clip as long as it's not too heavy.

I've also got a few Spydercos. I was really looking for something with a nice, broad clip. The narrow pocket clips you see on most Spydercos, Benchmades, etc. seem to tear up my money when it slip it in. The flat profile and broad clip make the CRKT K.I.S.S. a great money clip. Too bad it's such a lousy knife

The Boke Subcom series has been extremely popular. The Wharcom model pictured above is what I carry. Here's a picture of the original that started the craze. It also shows the framelock on the knife.

Another good money clip knife is the Spyderco Stainless Steel Cricket. It's what I carried before the Wharcom.
