Very nice finish on that lower. It looks like it's a real precision item. There is a company in Carson City, NV that makes a forged lower machined to one-half the tolerances of any other out there. Do a search on Tactical Customs, LLC of Mound House or Carson City, NV. These guys are aircraft machinists. They know how to cut metal...
I did the search and found "Page Not Found." Try www.mreguns.com for the Tactical Customs lower. It's near the top of the page.
Thanks nvshooter for the info, I'll check them out.
Here's another quick update and new addition. I installed the LMT buffer tube assembly tonight along with the CQD sling mount, All mil spec. I'm going to put a LMT stock on it later. Now I can start focusing on what kind of upper I want to get...or build. I've really enjoyed putting this lower together myself.
Well, I've decided to build my upper... from the ground up.
I decided to go with the VLTOR MUR-1 upper receiver. I'll start looking into barrels, handguards, etc. next week sometime, I'm not sure yet of what I want.
Here are some pics of the VLTOR upper... I just received the upper this morning.
You dog. That's the exact combo I've been drooling over for months now. Still haven't made up my mind between the WOA, Denny's or Noveske for the barrel. Keep us updated.
Chris at POF is a real decent guy to deal with. I've bought stuff for my HK's from them in the past.
I however couldn't bring myself to spend the extra $100-$150 per receiver on the POF's. I ended up going with Spike's Tactical receivers. They also have the HK style safe/fire markings. Though now I kind of wish I'd got the receivers with parley/arrgh!/pillage markings.
That's a real nice looking rifle js, keep it up. What are you building it out for? Semi-serious target shooting?
