New Remington 870 - another failure to extract story

Plan to leave aboard boat up to a week at a time during trips to Florida Keys and Bahamas. Likely to see direct/indirect saltwater contact since carrying case would be too obtrusive on flats boat or open fisherman and full breakdown, cleaning, and lubrication very unlikely until back home.
My concern with the safety is inadvertant disengagement from accidental bumps during storage. Purely personal preference. I believe most LEA use 870 and US Military Mossbergs. Says alot for both.

Speaking for the state of Georgia, the troopers here all carry Benelli Nova's with GRS.....before that they all carried Mossbergs.

My gun finally works now. It went back to the gunsmith for the second time. He replaced the ejector, tuned the extractor, and polished the chamber a second time. It extracts perfectly now.

I hope he billed Remington a fortune for all the warranty work. They should have built the gun correctly the first time.

Life is too short to get worked up about everything I have bought that didn't work out of the box. If it doesn't work, I make it work. If I can't make it work, I send it back.

FWIW, I never had that problem with my 870 express synthetic through hundreds of rounds, except one time I got into some chukars and short stroked one.
