New rifle conundrum, elk-ish (long)

The load i use in my .30-06 X-Bolt puts a 180gr pill down range at 2800 fps. That's a pretty healthy '06 load, but with the rifle's ergonomics and excellent recoil pad, i can shoot quite a bit before getting fatigued. I think the 7mm Mag would be similar, but .338 Mag would probably be over my fun limit. If you're stuck on an over .30 Cal, CDNN has .325 WSM X-Bolts for $599. However, what about the much more popular .300 WSM? You get a short action, plenty of power and an overwhelming bullet selection. Also the WSM's tend to be shooters, the .270 WSM I had was lights out accurate.
