Gday all,
I just picked up my brand new 2nd hand Revolver Carbine.
It is about 20 years old and save some pitting in the bore looks to be all good.
Ideally I will get to make a test today, though I will be busy with a shotgun RO course. Failing that tommorow is the day.
I have some .454 rb, I will have to use FFg as that is all I have at the moment and I will be loading 20-30gr, I have #11 caps but I think I will have to get #10 as these are a bit loose (I will squeeze them first so they don't fall off). Yup, and I know not to put my offhand in front of the cylinder.
Anyway I will let you know how it goes, If I am lucky I might get some video.

Cheers

If it shoots anything like mine did you will be pleased. Mine was the most accurate C & B I owned. Even with a Kirst and R & D conversion cylinders.
Sold my Repro's to buy originals Remy's.

Gday all,
Well I got in a quick shoot today (pretty busy in shotgun section).
I was only loading single shots but hope to get out tommorow and let loose with a full cylinder or two.
The .454 balls fit snugly without leaving a ring but I will prolly apply grease when I load the full cylinder.
Recoil was pretty mild as you would expect, somewhere between .38sp and .357 from my Rossi carbine I would guess.
I didn't really check accuracy as I was just aiming ad a spot on the mound, but it seemed to hit pretty much where it was pointed. I will try it on paper tommorow. One shot seemed to bounce of the top of the 75m mound and continue on to 100m.
I would not like to be the target at 100m as the ball seems to hit pretty hard. I will try for range at some point too.
The only slightly down side is that every time I shoot my left cheek is hit by something, possible a bit of lead as the ball enters the barrrel, not a drama I just have to remember to wear glasses. I shoot a bit of flintlock so I am used to explosions and crap around my face.
Also I am amazed at the amount of BP residue it collects in the barrel but also in the arm the cylinder revolves on, makes disassembly for cleaning difficult.
All in all tho a good little gun, very light, seems accurate and a lot of fun.

I paid AUS$225, so with the value of the dollar now: just shy of $200US
