Gday all,
I will be picking up a revolver carbine pretty soon and I was wondering if anyone had experience with them?
I have shot a fair bit of the Holy Black but only in my flint and caplock rifles, and I have no real pistol experience (Australia).
The one I am getting is 2nd hand and the bore is a bit rough but still has life in it. I am getting it for fun and "cute" value (plus you can never have too many black powder guns right).
Any way if anyone has one I would like your thoughts also any history if you know any.

Cheers

Howdy back to ya,
I have one and it is (like all blackpowder guns) a lot of fun to shoot. My only thought on shooting one is to keep your off hand BEHIND the cylinder while shooting it. I have never had a chainfire but I don't want my hand in front of the cylinder if I do.
Have fun,
Lee

I had one and it was the most accurate weapon I have shot in a long time. It shot just as well with a Kirst 44 convertor in it too. I agree with Lee, keep your hand off the bbl when shooting. it is easy to develope a great hold by putting the hook on the TG in the web between the thumb and forefinger of the off handand clasping the shooting hand. My hands are small enough to place my shooting hand pinky finger in the rear scroll. Very comfortable hold.

Like the others say, keep your hands behind the cylinder; use a two-handed grip as described above by Old Dragoon and you shouldn't have any problems. The only (slight) problem I had with shooting BP in one of these is that your face is awfully close to the cap as it goes off; sometimes cap particles can pepper you, so be sure to wear saftey glasses when shooting the gun. I solved this by purchasing an R&D cylinder for mine - haven't had the BP cylinder back on since!
Great and accurate gun... Have fun with yours!
