Well I did get out to Academy Sports before I went shooting Friday, and picked up a new Canon RSC for the house. The first two safes (14 gun models) were full and I had a bunch of rifles sitting in closets so now almost all the long guns fit in RSC's. Can we call them "safes" without getting beat up too bad?

Anyway, this is the mid size 24 long gun unit they had on sale for $450, I think it's well worth the money. It's fire rated for 1200 F for 30 mintues, it doesn't have as many door bolts as one would really like but that's what you get for $450. However it does come with 4 pre-drilled holes in the bottom and electrical outlets inside for a dehumidifier rod, and a port if you want to hook up a camera inside.

It's actually holding 14 long guns in the main part, plus a Mossy 500 and 6 pistols on the front door, and a bunch of magazines in the pouches. I really like the front door hanger it comes with. Total weight is around 400 pounds. I cut 4 small slits in the carpet, drilled and installed concrete whathamacallits, then installed the concrete bolts. It might not be a real safe but it will slow down the amatuers.
