Am wanting to buy one of the new striker fired LC9s. Anyone have the striker fired version? I can buy new for$359.00 out the door. I've read nothing but positives. I have looked and held one. I like them.
It will join in my ccw rotation. Help me out fellow gunners.

Thanks

I would say to get it. It's thin, it's 9mm, it's made by Ruger and would hide easily.

Yes! Soft shooting for a 17 Oz gun. Mine has been 100% reliable so far. Very good trigger. Plenty of holsters available (stay away from the DeSantis Nemesis).

Love this gun.

Don't own one, but have tried a friends' and it was really nice to shoot. Hides very easy, just wish it came with two mags like my Shield.. :(

I wish it didn't have a safety, or at least that the safety was a bit more prominent if it has to be there. But I still think I'll probably get one.

A fellow shooter at the range let me shoot a mag through his.

I was very impressed with the trigger pull. The safety was easy to operate, and in a comfortable position. It was comfortable in spite of having a small grip.

As far as recoil and comfort of shooting, it was on par with full size automatics. I like it, and will probably get one eventually.

I really don't understand that comment. The LC9s safety has a very tactile feel, comes off easily and naturally during draw, yet isn't so large to be obtrusive. Personally, if the gun is going to have a safety, I think it is just about optimal in size and shape.

I don't think it's bad, TarDevil, nor have I fired the gun. Just fondling it in the store I found it worked reasonably well but I have somewhat large hands (glove size XL) so I wish it was a tad bigger. But I could live with it for sure.

Yesterday my wife and I spent a long afternoon at our gun club. She had a brand new SR45 she was dying to try and I'm working up a load for my S&W 629. We also took her LC9 and my LC9s.

To make a long story short, today she's heading to our favorite LGS to trade her LC9 with CTC laser for and LC9s with no laser.

I like them both and coming from a "revolver upbringing" I shoot the LC9 just fine ... better than some. It only took one shot for her mind to be made up. And I agree, I like mine a great deal and if she wants one to be her carry piece she's got to get her own.

Love mine, but it has very light trigger pull. If you're used to shooting double action or perhaps Glocks, you might find the first shot goes off before you're ready. Once you
realize that, most likely you'll love the easy pull. Made for more accuracy for me. Traded my G42, but wish I'd kept it for those days I want something really light to carry.

Just my personal opinion, but I think Ruger got the right combination of tension, size and moment on this particular safety. I think you'll find in actually firing drills, you're highly unlikely to miss or fumble. OTOH, my hands are pretty small, so I can't speak from your perspective.

I don't know where you could find the LC9s to rent yet. I could not find one 6 weeks ago. I suppose to you could rent the LC9 to get a feel for the size and recoil of the gun.

I would suggest renting them both. Several different times. Initial impressions can fool you. I owned both. Wish I had spent more time on the front end trying them out.

I have the old LC9 and love it; even though my carry is an LCP. I hear the new LC9 has a shorter trigger pull.Is this the model to which you refer?
I also would like to hear some comments on the difference.
Only problem I had with LC9 was with a batch of S&B ammo (hard primers). Quit using them. No more problems ever in 7-800 rounds

I have an LC9s and have shot about 250 malfunction free rounds through it so far. NIGHT AND DAY compared to the original hammer equipped LC9. My LC9s has a 4 pound 3 ounce trigger pull. After putting about 50 rounds though it, I cleaned the barrel and shot it off the bench at 50 feet. It put five factory 115 Grain Speer Gold Dots into a group the size of a golf ball.

I like it. Get one you will like it too.

Just my .02,

LeonCarr, the new model, not having a hammer, is it smaller and /or lighter than the original?

Catpop,

IMO there is no difference in size or weight between the LC9 and LC9s. I did not weight them or anything like that :).

I own one, edc one, and love it. It's lightweight, accurate, and very very slim to the point that I almost forget I have it on me. It's easy to holster and un-holster due to the chamfered and contoured slide with almost any holster and is a dream in my foxx iwb holster. The only negatives I have on it is the strange takedown method on it and the magazine disconnect it used to have ;)... I have a ton of Ruger's but I must say they put at least on feature I don't like or is weird on every gun minus their revolvers.

Id buy a SIG P320 or a M&P Shield no thumb safety....
The m&p shield is a nice gun (wish my lc9s has the takedown) I shot about 20 rounds through my uncles and I plan on getting the p230 .357 sig in subcompact when it comes out and put a compact grip on it... Both good guns. With that being said the p320 is a little bigger and not really comparable to the style of pistol I think the OP is looking for.
