New Ruger Old Army

I have several ROA revolvers and front sight post was fine on all with out modification so I am confused. Most people dont need a new taller sight post IMHO.

They usually do if they fire hot loads. I made mine out of 1/8" flat stock from the Ace Hardware store. It only will work on a stainless gun because those front sights are pinned.

A buddy of mine and myself both have the higher sights on our old army's. If you shoot hot loads for hunting they will shoot high. Ruger will take care of it for you, they will change it or send you the sight. Ruger sent me a sight blade I did mine myself. It comes undrilled so you have to put it in the gun and drill it on a mill or drill press.

What size drill bit did you use? Ruger sent me one, but I'm not sure about the bit size.

Just punch out the old one and try bits till one goes through. I glued mine in place and then drilled straight through to indent the sight. I heated it, removed it, and finished the hole on a drill press. Then I epoxied it and re-pinned it in place.
