True, the LR does operate at lower pressures, I wonder if a 10 round WMR cylinder would have enough steel on the thinnest parts of the cylinder walls to contain the pressure safely
<edit> just sent an e-mail to Ruger, asking them if the S-10 uses a .223 or .224 bore barrel (.22LR only or .22LR/.22WMR) will post the results when I get a response
I think one of the reasons I *might* consider trading out of the 22/45 is that I like to shoot the ultraquiet .22 rounds, like the Super Colibri, the CCI CB series and Rem. CBees, as well as shooting Longs and Shorts, a Single 10 can handle any .22 S, L, or LR cartridge, as well as the ultraquiets, the only UQ rounds the 22/45 can handle are the Rem. CBees, as they are full .22LR length, but they're not all that quiet out of a handgun... neither would be the CB series or Colibris, but they'd be quieter than the CBees
What I give up in rapid fire speed (which I never do anyway) and quick reloading (of loaded mags, it still takes time to load the mags themselves) I gain back in ammo versatility, which I find more valuable to me and potential reliability (no issues with the 22/45 aside from the inability to use "unusual" rounds)
