That is to just name a few.
I always appreciate an education.

Can you point out some of the original ideas those companies have had in the last 50 years?

Thanks.

Kel tec has come out with the pmr 30 22 mag handgun ( you cant say they copied the grendel because it was designed by the same guy)
they also have the RFB
and the rifle version of the pmr 30
and now this bull pup shotgun the KSG

Always keep in mind there are three personalities when it comes to new firearms...

3. Last, we have the people who are known as "gun enthusiasts". They objectively look into the new firearm and decide if they want it, or need it. They add few words to the thread, or maybe none at all. Most are lurkers who only come for information.

Thanks for blowing our cover!

Someone pass the popcorn, the experts almost have this one figured out for us. :D

Seeing that LCP outline makes it a bit less appealing. Honestly you could go G19 for not much more. Catch a deal on Buds and you pay the same price for a lot more gun.

Hmmmm, kinda homely. Manual safety is a turn-off as well.

Hope they offer a slide finish other than blue soon. I got my PF9 in hard chrome because it spends alot of time against skin and sweat.

As a happy owner of both Kel Tec and Ruger pistols, I'll keep my PF9 - better price and better looks.

A P11 that holds half the rounds? :scrutiny: I'd rather have the Kel-Tec.

I'm sure it will sell a ton though, its says Ruger on it after all.

And of course it'll come equipped with that superbly engineered magazine disconnect & it's comrade in California PC, the loaded chamber indicator...I wouldn't own one under any circumstance, though I will predict here & now that this thing is recalled within the year!

I don't understand why they put all that lawyer crap on this gun, it says on the ruger website that its not CA approved any ways.

Don't you get tired of Ruger bashing?

I'm not bashing but I carry a gun that gets alot of it. Im typing this with a p-11 on my hip right now.

As wonderful as this little gun has been I just cant imagine spending $250 more on something just like it with a different name on the side. ( I got my kel-tec for nearly nothing in a trade, traded a taurus model 85 that I paid $300 for and got $150 boot :D )

Hats off to those who come up with truly novel ideas throughout human history; and hats off to those who make a better mousetrap as well. One of the great things, aside from originality, is making and selling a good product. The real test comes in the functioning, and for this pistol, it remains to be seen how well it will do just that.

A Ruger 1911 would be great not because it is an original idea, but because it would be from a company that many would like to see produce such a pistol.

I haven't noticed Scout being a Ruger basher since I have been here, but Denali certainly seems to be one.

And yes...I raise my glass to all the American companies, not just Ruger.

All that means is that it has yet to pass the communists muster, be assured the little gun was designed specifically with that in mind.....err "designed" meaning the addition of the chincy nanny state silliness...:)

Not yet but it will be if it is reliable. If you look at the press release it states the gun has a california approved loaded chamber indicator. New guns added to the california safe gun roster have to have that "crap" in order to be eligible to be tested. If the gun passes testing ruger can put the gun on the roster unlike the kel-tec pf9 which can't be tested. Lately the only decent guns added to the california roster seem to be rugers. I think it's a business decision for ruger. Mark

I see... I did not know it had to pass a test, I just thought that it had to meet certain specifications and it was in. I live in a very pro gun state (ky) so im not up to date on comi laws.

I gotcha now. Thanks

The nerve of Ruger..............not wanting to shut out over 10% of the US population from purchasing their gun....

If they were smart, they'd tell them Californey Commies to pound sand. Reducing the amount of gun owners in California is great for gun rights nationally.

But wait. It's an exact copy in size of the Kahr. Didn't you read the thread?

So what you're saying is that you're good with the concept of California influencing what Ruger sells to you in whatever state you call home? Further, you should know that other "reputable" firearms manufactures have intentionally cut California off, and will not ship to, or attempt to comply with California's totalitarian intrusions upon the US firearms market!

I'm good with a manufacturer producing what it needs to sell product. If the CA approved product turns out not to be acceptable for sale in the rest of the country, I have no doubt they'd produce another version.

Further, you should know that other "reputable" firearms manufactures have intentionally cut California off, and will not ship to, or attempt to comply with California's totalitarian intrusions upon the US firearms market!

Do tell which major manufacturers, have "intentionally cut California off, and will not ship to, or attempt to comply with California's totalitarian intrusions upon the US firearms market"?
