i'm gonna wait til SA comes out with the XDS in 40sw. having an xd 40, i'd like to keep the muscle memory the same. don't need a safety with the grip safety and the USA trigger feature. it's muscle memory for me. but i would like to shoot this SW Shield too, before making decision. is the Shield an SAO trigger???

If you look at the comparison pics the Shield is really small and slim. Much more so than the regular compacts. That being said, being the absolute smallest shouldn't be the measuring stick as to which is best. The G26 is smaller than the M&P 9C but I prefer the slightly larger grip on the M&P. If you want the smallest then the XDS probably isn't the smallest one out their either so that argument is pretty silly to me.

Meh, the XD-s is thinner, more pocketable, with a better trigger/better sights and in a better caliber and doesn't have the stupid safety.

Kudos to Smithy for having the gun ready to ship right away, but the XDs just seems better in every appreciable way.
Having a m&p 45c...... I had hoped that sw would have made this one pocketable....

I think they made a mistake adding the extra bullet........

If i can appendix carry, i dont need such a small gun

Yup, my thoughts exactly. That's what I've been saying all along but people think I'm crazy. FOR ME, the only purpose of a single stack is pocket carry. on a belt, the extra .21" or .22" aren't ANY harder to hide/conceal.

Oh well, different strokes for different folks.
