My new Series 70 Gold Cup

After looking for the best 1911 to ad to my collection, fate stepped in. I can across an ad on gunsamerica for a Colt Gold Cup series 70, and its at a gun shop near where I live! I called from work to make sure it was still available, then asked the owner to hold it till 5pm so I could see it. I had bought a gun and some supplies from this shop in the past. Went to look and sure enough it was in excellent condition with the box and papers no less. I bought it on the spot and will bring it home tomorrow after getting the purchase documents from the local PD. Here is the pic from the shop.

It was $900 for cash, they are up to $1450 on gunsamerica in this condition with the original box. This is the the older series 70 Gold Cup, not the new production currently from Colt.

Looks just like the one that I bought from my Great-uncle through my Grandfather (original box, wrench, and papers with only two boxes fired through it) back in the early 90's. I've been wanting another one, mainly because I rarely shoot the one I have (but it shoots very well). I'd like to have one without any sentimental value assigned to it. You'll really enjoy that Gold Cup!
