new sig 556 need suggestions on optics

Just got a new 556 and the low end model sights are crap. Well they seem crappy anyway. I could be wrong, but they seem low budget, need suggestions for decent sights at good price. Mind you I have not shot it yet for all I know I am dead wrong, if so, let me know. thanks

The sights are pretty cheesy, but SIG makes an accessory set that look pretty good and are basically identical to the SIG 550/552 service rifle sights.

best overall? had to joy to use a 'Elcan Specter DR' last month, i still get excited thinking about it.

Get the SIG diopter sights as they appear to be durable and made for the weapon.

For optics it is hard to beat an ACOG or other high quality fixed or variable power compact scope. For example a Nightforce 1-4X24 would be great as would their 2.5-10X24, or their 2.5-10X32. Leupold makes some nice scopes in that size/magnification range as well. Compact good glass, tough construction is what you are looking for.
