I am looking to upgrade my factory sights on a 34 and a 19. The 34 is used solely for IDPA (maybe home defense in a pinch,) while the 19 is my CCW.

There are a ton of options, which is a good thing, but at the same time it can be overwhelming.

I like the Heinie sights and have heard good things. I am leaning towards the Slantpro sights for the 34 and the Straight 8 night sights for the 19.

Or maybe I should just get the same sights for both guns. If so, which? Tell me your thoughts.

I like the all black Slant Pros for target shooting, I always get my best groups with them.
I have the Straight Eights on my 19 just in case I need them.
Another option for the 34 would be a fiber optic front and the Slant Pro rear.

Ive always either got the factory three dot night sights, or put Meprolight three dots on mine. Keeps things simple, as all are the same.

The range I'll shoot at most is indoors and they do occasionally take advantage of that and create low/no light stages. Would that influence your choice of going with night sights over standard black?

If all youre doing with the gun is target shooting, you really dont need the night sights, unless of course, part of that is shooting low light, where they are very handy.

For everything else, once youve used them, I doubt you'll be without them.
