I've been reading this forum for many years, getting a lot of good advice on guns, particularly the 1911. I have learned a lot and I'm grateful toeveryone participating. A big thanks to all the forum users. Here goes my first(!) post:

I found yesterday on Midway's pages, new high capacity magazines for 9mm singlestack 1911's. They will be available in 15, 20 and 30-round capacity by the end of next month, and are manufactured by National Magazine. There are no pics of the new mags.

Does anybody have any more info on these?
I wonder if they are a completely new design, or only modified .45ACP magazines? Probably a new design though, as they should have even higher capacity if they where modified 45 mags.

I've been searching for high cap 9mm mags capable of holding 12 rounds or more, and the new 15-round mags could be a solution.
I wonder how far the 15-rounder sticks out of the magwell?
On the .45, i find the lenght of the 10 rounders acceptable, but the 15 rounders are just way too long.

I think a 12 round 9mm mag would be just about the same lenght as a 10 round 1911 mag, and the way to go.
I fear that the 15 rounders will be too long, and also maybe unreliable (not to mention the 20 and 30 rounders!!..).

How is the quality of National Magazines?

I hate to say it, but National Magazine has a very bad rep.

I wouldn't spend on money on them. Even if they are the only ones offering a high cap 9mm 1911 mag, the mag is only good if it works, and National Magazine mags have a rep for not working.
