Picked this up yesterday S&W M&P R8 has a rail on the bottom and a removable top rail for optics, 8 shots of .357mag cylinder cut for moon clips, has a Cylinder & slide fiber optic front & rear sight, Scandium frame with a 5" 2 piece barrel. One of them love it or hate it looks!! I am a traditionalist so this was a reach for me!!

Nice find! When I was up in the woods more I carried the 329pd but never felt 100% that I'd mastered the weapon. The TRR8 like you got was next on my list to try. Then I moved back the city so never got around to buying one.

Everybody has their own tastes, but I wish the S&W performance center would quit making their guns with the flat side barrels.

I guess I am just old and set in my ways.

I agree. However, 3-series smiths are what they are. We take what we get, or leave it. I have a 351c which I'll never sell because its perfect for my intended use, it cannot be improved on in that regard. I do wish there were more models.

Hello friends and neighbors // Nice time to reach, that is a very versatile revolver.

The grips on my 327 NG snubbie make shooting .357 no problem.
The night sights are outstanding as well.

No rail or scope mount option but after seeing yours I may look into the longer ,357 model.
Hope you enjoy shooting it!

Any thoughts on a scope or optics?

You're not the only one. Not my taste, but I'm glad the OP likes his. Congratulations.

Ranch Products makes moon clips for it that are very reasonable and their customer service is good.
