Hi all, first time posting in the handgun section. I ordered and will be receiving my new Sig Pro SP2022 sometime this week, along with my new S&W M&P15-22. I have heard some great things about the Sig and can't wait to shoot it.

I will only be using this gun for some practice at the range as I have no plans for CCW at all. I am curious how many people have this gun and if you have any ammo recommendations for me. It's been about 10 years since I last owned a handgun and I am looking forward to learning how to shoot one again.

Thanks again

Congratulations! I don't own one of those polymer marvels (but I wish I did.) From what I've heard from a friend who owns one (small sample size, I know), they shoot pretty much anything. I also hear they shoot as well as (if not better than) a 226 and cost a lot less. Sounds like a winner.

Congrats on the Sig Pro purchase. I own one of the "old school" Sig 2340s. Mine was a LEO trade in.

You are correct in that these Sigs will feed and fire everything. What you can also look forward to, is one of the best out of the box triggers there is.

Keep us posted on your impressions of this firearm. I don't believe you will be disapointed.

I haven't found any 9mm that mine won't eat. For range use? Winchester White Box is nice and cheap.

I really like my SigPro. It's super easy to shoot well, fast.

I bought one for the wife. Liked it so much I bought another for myself. ;)

SIG sights require a combat sight picture vice the 6 o'clock hold you probably were taught. Lots of posts about "My new SIG shoots low!"

Mine actually does. The front sight is different from the one on my wife's and it shoots about 2" lower at 10 yards.

The trigger may or my not be great out of the box. The wife's was gritty & nasty, mine was like buttah out of the box. Her's smoothed up nicely after about 500 rounds.

I don't believe either one has malf'd even once if you don't count some powderpuff handloads I tried out. Not quite enough "oomph."

Mine has run through every 9mm round I have fed it. You should have no problem with ammo. Pick up a few spare magazines and have fun!

Just got the same gun in .40 and I love it. The single action trigger is nice and I love the decocker. At $399 NIB, you just can't beat it. I'd buy another in a heartbeat. It shoots anything I've fed it. The only issues I had was when I shot some handloads through it that hadn't had a taper crimp applied. My Sigma 40VE shot them fine, but apparantly the Sig has tighter tolerances because I had several failure to feed issues. No worries though. A quick run through the Lee Factory Crimp Die and they ran smooth as could be.

Congrats and happy shooting.

I have the SP 2022 in 9mm. and like it a lot. The only gun I have with a nicer, more ergonomic grip is a CZ P-07 DUTY.
As said, my Sig also eats everything I've fed it -- so far.
