I am considering purchasing a Sig/Sauer SP2022 in 9mm Parabellum mostly for target shooting and self-defense/camping/hiking. Now don't laugh, but, the reason I am looking at this particular hand gun is because I am a huge fan of the Jason Bourne three-movie series (in which the SP2022 figures prominently in Bourne Ultimatum).

So, I may not be easily dissuaded from this choice; unless, of course, the general consensus is that this particular Sig is not worth the money. What I would like to know is how the fit-n-finish compares to comparable handguns made by Sig or other manufacturers, how is the gun accuracy-wise out of the box, and how is the gun's functionality/maintenance record.

Thanks for sharing your opinions.

i have one in .40 cal

i have one in .40 cal and i can tell you the trigger is the best out of all my other sigs. extremely smooth and no slop.
its accuracy is what you would expect from any other sig. outstanding!
if you buy one you wont be disappointed.

That's great to hear :D. I am scrounging up the cash for one now.

I too had the .40 S&W version - great gun. The only reason I traded it was that I was moving to compacts. I thought it was a real winner for SIG.

Good guns. The current ones being sold at $459 have a ifalon finish which is superior to the Sig Nitron.

These are all German guns with great triggers and will serve you well. For some reason the Sig Pro line has always been the bastard child of the Sig line.

Oh Vern, quit showing off. Yer making us all look bad. ;)

If you can, get it! I picked one up in November and love it. The trigger takes a little getting used to if you aren't familiar with the Sig trigger but it's impressive once you get the feel of it.

They are an amazing gun, easily the underdog of SIG's lineup. Get one, you won't regret it

The first Sig Pro's I shot were a little..... errrrr..... frustrating...... From what I hear, the SP2022's are pretty good guns.
