My wonderful wife of what will be 13 years in a couple weeks (God knows how she has suffered through living with me that long!) has gifted me with the ok to order a new Tikka T3 Lite. Going for the stainless .25-06 because well, I do not have one yet. Gonna be a LOOONNGG week or so of waiting for it to come in!

General opinions on the quarterbore? Like it, Love it, Hate it? Why?

Anything bad to say about Tikka? I have not seen much but good things said about them.

I've got a Tikka 695 in stainless. It's perhaps my favorite gun to shoot. It's very accurate right out of the box. I hunt with it and it's accurate with all my loads. For the most part I use 120 gn bullets for larger game and 87 grain for varmints.

absolutely love mine... i have the t3 lite in 30-06. Stands up to the weather well, shoots great...the only drawbacks I can think of are that the factory recoil pad is a little tough (not really a problem for my purposes, its a hunting rifle, not a target gun) and my safety switch started to rust pretty badly, even though the rest of the gun looked great.

I have a Tikka and a Rem 700, love the Tikka and disappointed with the Rem 700. Out of the box you get a lot for the Tikka, a very smooth action with a trigger you can dial down to 2lbs.

Went in to order this morning and when the manager called it in to Beretta he was told no current availability, first shipping would be sometime in December :what: He then checked some of their other stores and found one in Pennsylvania, which means it will come a couple three days earlier and I got it for $20 cheaper then originally planned :neener: Should be here sometime next week. If they could not locate I would have just ordered from Bud's who showed it in stock but would have been another week or so added to shipping time.

Thinking about putting a Redfield Revenge on it, have heard pretty good things about them, lotta bang for the buck.

That'll be an awesome target or deer rifle. The. 25-06 can reach out and thump a deer right fine!

Thats an overbore round, right? So he'd want enough barrel to burn that powder, is that right, guys?

I have a blued 695, and it is forever my deer rifle. Out of the box, right at 1.25 MOA with bulk-ish hunting stuff, and sub moa with match ammo. I've done nothing to it but add a scope. I do have one complaint. The action is so damned smooth, if you short-stroke it, you may not notice that you did not chamber a round. I missed a gorgeous 10pt. like that. Chambered in the dark. Well... "chambered." Shoulda seen that beautiful deer look at me after the "click."

Sig, believe it or not, I've never shot any bullets through either of my 695's I didn't load myself. I think my 25-06 would be accurate loaded with oatmeal; it seems every load with any powder and bullet combo is good. I've also got a 695 in 30-06 and it's a little bit more picky but in the end, it's about as consistant.

Like you, I'm amazed at the smooth action on these rifles. To me, that's what differentiates the Tikkas from the Remingtons and Mauser's I've got.

IMHO, just about the best rifle out there. Butter smooth action, and as accurate as they come.

Picked it up today. I am impressed. Fit and finish are great, bolt is smooth as butter and seems to have a great trigger. Cannot wait to put some rounds through it. Probably going to end up painting the stock as the plain black just does not do it for me.

Will post some pix in the next couple days.

I paid $683.00 out the door for mine. $639 plus tax. Original price was $679 but they gave me a break. Could not be happier with the service I received.

Sorry for the delay but have been busy, busy. Rifle arrived on Tuesday and I picked it up within an hour of when the Brown truck of happiness dropped it off. I was rushed when I took the pix and did not notice the crappy quality and poor focus when I took them :cuss: (stupid yard work calling). I ended up getting the Redfield Revenge, optics looked good in the store and I am intrigued with their ranging system. Hopefully will get out this weekend to see how she shoots.

This is the last time it will look like this as I have already stripped the stock off, sanded to rough it up a little and masked it off in order to start painting it tomorrow. Will be using Rustoleum American Accents Sierra stone. I have used this before and I really like how it turns out. Sand the stock a bit, coat with a plastic primer and put a couple three coats of the stone and 4-5 coats of a clear coat sealer over it to weather proof. Will post pix when done.
