I was pretty excited when I got the call that my Tikka T3 Lite had come in. While inspecting it at the store, we discovered that there were no rings with it - I did not order rings separately because Beretta's website clearly states that all Tikka T3's come with rings. I'm west coast and they are east, so I'll have to try and call them (Beretta) tomorrow.

Second issue is with the trigger adjustment. The website says that you can adjust the trigger pull from 2-5lbs. without a gunsmith, simply by turning a screw. The instructions say to simply release the magazine to expose this screw. Nope. Pop out the magazine, no screw appears where they indicate it should. Looks like I'm going to have to remove the whole trigger assembly to reach it. Anyone else have any experience with this?

I'm sure this will all get ironed out, it's just kind of a bummer. I was hoping to sight it in this weekend, but depending on how quickly or slowly Beretta responds, it could be a lot closer to deer season than I would have hoped.

I never noticed the triggers screw thing

Who did you buy it from? It's not unheard of for a dealer to remove accesories such as rings and extra mags (not honest though).

Pulling the rifle out of the stock is no big deal. This will definitely let you adjust the trigger (mine is the best factory trigger I've shot yet on a hunting rifle). I think it is two screws and the whole barreled action lifts right out.

Had a local gunstore order it for me after handling similar models. I don't think they'd take the rings out. Since all of these guns come with rings, all of the gun owners are just going to call Beretta for free replacements, the store wouldn't make anything trying to resell them. But who knows, maybe he hasn't thought of that yet.

I'd definitely like to lighten the trigger, it's nice and crisp, but too heavy.

That's a bummer for sure.

Beretta's "helpline" answered me personally after less than 5 minutes on hold and actually took care of all of my questions. I'm expecting they will see to it that all is well.

In some of the ads that I have seen the Tikka listed, they have 2 different prices - one with and one w/o rings. It could be that the rings aren't standard anymore.

Interesting, I hadn't heard that before, that could be the case.

I love hearing that -- it seems like I've heard a fair share of complaints about Beretta USA in general. That was a few years ago when I owned a couple of Beretta handguns and spent a little time on the Beretta forum. Maybe things have changed for the better.

The two screws on my Tikka T3 Varmint are located in front of the mag well and behind the trigger guard. You will need to drop the mag 1st. Very easy to remove. The housing pops straight out exposing the trigger adjustment screw. The whole operation takes 5 minutes.

FYI....the Tikka is a great rifle.

Release the mag, unscrew the two screws holding the trigger guard/plate on and pull it out vertically. There will be a hex-head screw exposed that you can then adjust quite easily.

BrainOnSigs - where did you get your five round magazines? I did a quick online search, saw a variety of prices, all $50 and up, all from companies I've never purchased from before.

Thanks for the adjustment info, I'll give it a look this afternoon.

update

Just an update... in case anyone is wondering about the state of Beretta service. I did speak with a human within about five minutes of calling, and there was a known warehouse issue where some guns left without rings. They will send them free of charge. The bad news is that they won't get them in until the 29th, plus UPS shipping time to me. I wouldn't receive them for about a month, which would be over one week into deer season.

My only other option is to order a set through my local gunstore. He says his supplier has them on hand, and I can have them by the end of the week... for about $60. I asked the Beretta rep if I could order them myself and have them reimburse me, but he said that's not an option.

QUESTION: the Tikka T3's have a rail on them for rings, does anyone know a brand of rings that fit this rail? I have a set of Weaver's I tried, and they are too wide - it seems the T3 rail is narrower than standard width.

EDIT: I found some Millet's that should fit... nevermind. :)

It's a Euro. width (someone here will chime in with the right name).
Take a look at Burris Zee rings. I think they make a set to fit this width and they use a similar plastic sleeve system.

Good luck.

It has a 11mm dovetail groove for mounts. I had good success with the Tikka Optilocks but eventually traded them out for Warne rings that I had hardchromed to match the receiver and barrel.
