New Tisas (Turkish) M1911A1

CajunBass --- Did your 9mm Tank Commander come with the Commander hammer ? If not, did you have to alter the hammer or grip safety to fit ?
I have the same model in .45acp, but it has the Service 45 hammer.

No, it came with the commander type hammer. I'm much to lazy to change something like that. :)

I think they use parts as they have them. Run out of commander hammers? Use a spur one.

I have two Tisas 1911's DUTY one is 45 acp and the other is 9mm.
I got the 45 last year and so far has fired everything. Would like to see how their version of the high power works, have heard good things about those

Alright, is it me or a 1911 should only be .45!?!?!

if you want 9mm > then 2011 is the platform

yes I have both

Nothing wrong with a 1911 chambered in 38ACP/38 Super.

Yes I do own a 1911 in 9mm but I did buy a 38 Super barrel and magazines for it as soon as I found them in stock.

never shot a 38 Super, what’s it feel like?

38 Super with a proper load feels about the same as 45 to me. Yes there is a slight difference in the recoil pulse but it isn't noticeable for me. I haven't messed with the watered down commercial 38 Super ammo. I reload all of my 38 Super ammo.

Yes factory 38 Super ammo is watered down since there are still a lot of Spanish pistols chambered in 9mm Largo and the 38 Super will chamber and cycle in most of them. A full power 48 Super load can be dangerous in some of the older 9mm Largo pistols.

Update, I had a buddy shoot my Tisas 1911 yesterday. He also had the same mid magazine double feed / failure to eject. It doesn't happen all the time though. I did note a crazy ejection pattern off the fired casings.

IIRC The major reasons for the use of .38super in IPSC was that they had larger capacity than .45acp 1911s and they operated at a higher pressure to allow
the comp to have a better effect at keeping the muzzle lift down when firing and they made major. This was in the Unlimited class. I saw very few, if any, .38supers
in the Limited class. Pretty much the same muzzle jump as a .45, but a smaller hole for scoring.
