Hey all. I picked up this Israeli surplus Hi Power from Coles last week and want to change the grips. I've pretty much settled on VZ grips but can't decide on what color and style. I plan to keep the parkerized finish so what do you think looks best? I'm leaning to one of the three below but am open to all ideas, even non VZ.

The grips on the gun are excellent for shooting. For display, it's whatever you think looks best. I like the older wood HiPower grips.

For me, the best grips were rounded and fully checkered from Craig Spegel. I dislike edges on High Power grips because they dig into my hand during recoil. I also dislike smooth areas at the top of the grip since I try to grip the gun as high as possible.

Here is an article I found that shows them:

I also like the standard factory plastic grips. I find them to be very comfortable and grippy.

I much prefer the black Micarta thin grips from Brownells. They're nicely checkered and IMO the slim profile fits the character and aesthetics of the slim Hi-Power quite well. They're also only $50 or so, or at least they were when I picked them up a couple years back.

My mkI has stock wood on it... But I love the look and feel of all black VZ in the golfball pattern

Of the three you have listed I like the Dirty Olive G10 pattern. Also second the notion of checking out the Browning grips made by Craig Spegel.

I put the beavertail on all (5) of my BHP's. Keeps the hammer from biting. This HP has Pachmeyer wrap-around grips, the others have either wood, or plastic factory grips. What ever floats your boat.
