Yesterday I did my paperwork on a new to me P229 in 9mm. It will be close to two weeks before I can pick it up though, living in the People's Republic of Maryland and all. I'll try to post pictures when I get it.
This pistol comes with 6 mags that I will probably sell a few of to offset my cost (they're 17 rounders, they protrude out the bottom of the gun). The mags and the slide have been coated with NP3 (Teflon). I wasn't familiar with this, but it sounds good to me. So it's a two tone gun with Tru-Glo front sight. I believe the rear sights are NS. Seems the previous owner did a few extras to this pistol, as the sights, mags and NP3 are not standard. I can't wait to try it out.
I had inquired on this forum about HK P7s as I was very interested in one of them but couldn't get myself to committ. First off, CDNN would not sell to me being in Maryland. All the other P7s I saw were more expensive than CDNN.
Then I went and held a P7 at my local dealer and kind of liked it. I don't have giant hands but with the cocker pulled in and finger on the trigger, it just seemed kind of small to me. I'm intrigued by the design of the gun, but couldn't get myself to buy one. I know that some of you would disagree with my pick of the 229 over the P7, but the 229 just felt so much better in my hand. And I had been wanting a 'real' Sig. I love my Mosquito but don't really count it as a true Sig.
So I'm looking forward to receiving it and hitting the range with it. Thanks for listening.
