Went to a local gun show today kicking and screaming (went by myself) When I got home I somehow had a Smith that wasn't with me when I left. The gun is a Smith 27-2, it's pinned and recessed and has a 3 1/2 barrel (95%). The price was $500.00 after a bit of negotiating. BTW, the seller was a woman.

The M27 is the descendent of the first 357 Magnum, the "Registered Magnum" as collectors call it. This was the top of the S&W line. The 3.5" barrel was always the most popular and fetches the most in the used gun market. I think the price you paid was well under current market value.

Anyone who knows me knows that I love all things 27. I have a passel of 27s (and variants) hanging around the house.

Eastsiders buying up our supply of Smiths, what next, Lol.

Let's see some pics when you are done cleaning and admiring this one please, congrats.

You stole one of the nicest revolvers ever built.
That one is in very high demand these days.
You would have done well at twice the price.

Enjoy it

Posting this for Bush Pilot, looks as if he got a real nice one.

He now has to call before coming over and poaching any more of our Smiths :D
