I have been wanting a Coonan 1911 in 357nad for a while and finally got one, I ran across a pretty good deal on a Coonan Compact and I'm glad I bought it.
It's a blast to shoot.

I put 125 rounds through it the day I picked it up and the only issue is the last round in the mag doesn't always go into the chamber, my hope is this may remedy itself with break in of the mag springs and the gun but other than that I love it.

39 oz about the same as any all stainless 1911, the full size Sig 1911 is 42oz

How's the trigger compared to a good 1911?

The trigger is very good for a from the factory unit, it's a little different because it is hinged but it's very smooth and better than any of my stock 1911s.

I have a custom Colt Commander built by Rob at ACW and that trigger is the best I have ever shot it breaks very crisply at about 2.5 pounds.

Very neat! Definitely like the downsized Compact version. Sort of like a more muscular Colt Combat Commander.
