Hey Brad! Got you covered! It's not the "usual" ASM. Trying to get a lot out this week. (Wife's at the beach, means I can stay in the shop longer!!)

Not when the reamed chambers are loaded to full capacity [with realtively more powder] and loaded with larger .457 balls which are heavier as rodwah mentions 3 posts above mine.
More powder + heavier projectile = more pressure.
rodwha had also started another thread [the day before this thread] about deepening his chambers for the express purpose of increasing the powder capacity of his 1858 chambers which I was thinking about when I posted.
He wanted to make room for more powder to shoot with conicals that occupied mostly all of his available chamber space and he wanted more room for powder.
Perhaps I chose the wrong post to reply to, and I overlapped the 2 threads.
But that was the reason why I said that the "Larger diameter chambers would lead to an increase in pressure and possibly also additional wear to critical parts."
At maximum loads with heavier projectiles, the pressure would be increased.
I should have been more specific since not all reaming is done in order to increase powder charges or to use larger projectiles.
But here's the thread where I probably should have posted it which provided the context that led me to think about the potential for increased pressure:--->>> https://www.thehighroad.org/index.php?threads/deepening-nma-chambers.841304/
So is it the consensus from you guys who have played with the cylinder diameters that a .001 over groove size helps with accuracy ? Wouldn't a tapered reamer be the tool to do this with ? I'm guessing, but the whole length of the cylinder wouldn't have to be made larger for accuracy.
Actually it was not to increase the powder but to increase the bullets. Both my NMA and ROA seem to have a preferred accurate powder charge no matter the projectile so I assume modifying the chambers wouldn’t change that.
Rodwha, you're right, thanks for correcting my mistake.
The Classicballistix ROA replacement cylinders seem to allude to increased [powder] capacity as a selling point: "Our cylinders are deep bored for greater capacity."--->>> http://www.classicballistx.com/our_cylinder.html
