Walther is offering a P99 variation in .380! Sounds like a nice summertime carry piece or maybe one for the wife. I have a P22 that I picked up for a song. I have to say that while I really like the styling of the pistol (It also has the factory red dot.), I am not really impressed with the quality of the steel or reliability. What does everyone think about this new offering?

You are referring to the PK380, I assume.
It is more of a scaled-up P22 than a P99 variant, and if it actually existed there might be more opinions on it. So far the PK380 seems to be releasing uch like the PPS did, late, delayed, and not on the shelves when promised.

Seems like it might be cool, but it's larger than the P3AT/LCP and not much smaller than the PPS.

It is slated to be a lot cheaper than the PPS, but in the long run if you take it to the range once in a while the PPS will save you on ammo.

I suppose the thing will see strong sales in the "what gun to buy my wife" demographic, and be a rare sight at any firing range.
