Another good tool. It seems to be as accurate as most of the other search engines I have used. Several incorrect listings in the results. No big deal.

you should read your PM's. I read your code and sent you some suggestions on how to protect your idea. I was curious as to how the folks did it, pretty slick :)

Very, very coil. Thanks. May I suggest adding a Facebook link? I would love to share with my friends

For Facebook you can either just post a link to our site or after you search a gun you will notice a "share this link" wording with a link afterward. If you post that to your wall anyone that clicks it comes
Straight in to an updated version of what you searched. We didn't out Facebook and twitter links because we want to keep the screen layout minimal. We hope if people like it they will post it on there social media without us telling them to :). Thanks for the suggestion though!

A Suggestion...

You may want to include Armslist.com in your seearch results too.

But otherwise, a very nice tool!

starting this morning you guys should see Bass Pro, Cabela's, Academy, and Gander Mountain all appearing in the results. Any other big stores missing for black friday?

Man, that is awesome. Thanks.
I immediately found something I'm looking for at a great price.
Now, if I can just find the funds to purchase it, I'll be in business. :)

Seriously, thanks. I'll use this a lot.

Good job! It confirmed that the price I paid at last week's gun show was $50 less than I'd ever seen before.

I'll be checking it before every gun show!

very good idea. How would you guys like to see this integrated, without it making the results messy. I would hate to show you something for sale in Kentucky when you live in Michigan etc.. I personally don't use armslist so i am curious how you guys do. How far do you go back looking for listing, a week or month?

we have the servers checking for deals a lot faster in preparation for black friday. any other sites you guys want added before then?

maybe add walmart?

I searched for a remington 870. I thought walmart would show up as a top result but i didn't see it. just a thought since they often are first for stuff like taht or ruger 10/22s.

Hey everyone! I wanted to open up the new beta site up for everyone here since you guys have helped so much, there are tons of improvements. Search should be A LOT more accurate on common words like M1A. We built our own custom database and the speed difference is insane. Also, we now have classifieds so you can search armslist and gunsinternational. Let me know what you think and hope you enjoy!

Just an FYI to all, gunwatcher isn't making any money off his site, and he's offering it as a service to the gun owning community.

I hope this is incorrect as otherwise it won't be around very long unless he's independently wealthy. I suspect there are some advertising referral fees that might eventually come back to him since there are doubleclick.net scripts on the page.

I sure hope he can make enough with it to keep it going.

the doubleclick.net script you see is for google analytic's. Is generates a gif that your browser downloads so it lets me know how many people are on the site at a given time etc... You can even go to the link "http://stats.g.doubleclick.net/" to see that it is part of google analytic's. There is no referral fee either, when you click a store in gunwatcher watch your url, it goes straight to the page. If it was a referral you would see it go to a link for a second then redirect to the store you clicked.

We are just a group of middle class guys supporting this as a hobby. The cost aren't to bad when its split between the group, but we do get a lot of fun out of doing it. Yes we are weird like that ;)

Although it has already been said, this is *really* cool!

You say it's free, but it's gonna cost me in the end...
