Just picked up my new Ruger Wrangler today. Took it straight to the indoor range and fired a dozen rounds thru it. Successful function test, which was the purpose today.

It's my first single action, I thinks it's gonna be fun.

Also btw I picked up a 500 round brick of Aquila 38grain, copper plated hollow points. I'm impressed. They work just fine in the Wrangler and also in my old Smith model 2213, which is a little bit choosy about what it will or won't shoot.

So I'll definitely be going back to see the nice lady tomorrow to pick up another brick.

The Wrangler is a great gun. I like mine over all. I'm kind of a SA 22 junkie and have 7 or 8 different models. I like the Wrangler for what it is and as long as you don't expect it to be something it's not I'm sure you will like it too.

Have purchased three and all have been fine shooting accurately, good function, and repeatable. I keep one in my truck but have used them to train my two granddaughters (now18 and 13) in firearm and hunting safety. The whole family enjoys shooting them very much. Works as a good canine finisher on the trap line too...
Seems to be one of the best deals out there for all of the above.

I’m waiting for at least a 5 1/2” barrel. Some here say it’s never coming. If so I’ll never own one

I’ve handled them and liked them. Ended up finding a new rough rider for $90 so I got that instead and I’m happy. I’d be happy to have a wrangler but my next .22 revolver will need to have adjustable sights. Thinking a single six.

Not to hijack the thread but Heritage does offer an adjustable site model if you like the Rough Rider. I love all of mine.

I’m glad to hear some more on this model. I too like adjustable sights. I do own a single six so it may never happen for me, but I still think of one ever so often.
Thanks

Congratulations on your purchase. I have a Wrangler, also. Bought it August of last year, and have shot the snot out of it. Probably have at least 2000 rounds through it by now. They aren't target guns, but mine will shoot six shots in two inches at 15 yards, if I do my part. I did modify it a bit by polishing the chambers hammer and trigger, clipping two coils from the hammer spring, and letting one leg of the trigger spring down. Those little mods really improved the operation of the gun. They aren't Single Sixes, but the Wrangler caused me to buy one this summer. I really enjoy shooting both of them, but the SS with it's 5.5" barrel and adjustable sights is a real joy vs. the Wrangler's fixed sights. Regardless, I like the Wrangler over the Heritage; I just can't take that side-safety.

Wife and have one each. Only disappointment is my single six mag cylinder doesn't fit....but it isn't supposed to. Goes in, won't turn.

Fun guns, those Wranglers. Mine shoots pretty well for me, and the 20-dollar Altamont grips give me a little bit more to hang onto over the stock grip panels.
Stay safe.

hi riomouse, where did you get these altamont grips? seems to be a nice improvement for an already fine piece.

i have only put about 300 various rounds through my wrangler, all perfect. my 5.5” single six is more accurate, no surprise with adjustable sights and longer barrel, but the wrangler is certainly a keeper. i like the free spinning cylinder reloads and not needing to drop the hammer on a loaded cylinder after reloading. i just wish that ruger had offered the wrangler with an 8 vice 6 shot cylinder, and in a slightly shrunken bearcat sized version.

Altamont has them on their website. I bought the checkered super rosewoods for the single six and the checkered super walnuts for the Wrangler.

Altamont ran a Black Friday sale last November and listed them for 20 bucks a pair. I will think they’ll do something similar this year around that time.

Stay safe.
