Newbie Cleaning Question

I have a Mossberg 835 Ulti Mag Turkey shooter 12ga with an overbored 10ga smooth bore barrel on it. What size brush should I use to clean it with. I have read the Stickie in the Shotgunning 101 Library about cleaning and the overbored barrel was not mentioned. Should I buy a 10ga brush or just use the 12ga I have with patches or cotton cloth wrapped around the brush? TIA

The 12 gage brush will work, but will have less "purchase" than a 10 gage brush would. There is only ~.040" difference between the 10 and 12 gage bores.

It will probably be a bit difficult to remove plastic wad fouling with the 12 gage brush than with the 10 gage one.

A 10 ga brush can get smaller to fit your bore if it needs too.

But a 12 ga brush can't get larger to fit your bore if it needs to.
