Next Futuristic Movie Gun: You Design it!

Since we're pretending, the future rifle should fire a round like the 5.7 but due to better powder, the case would be half the length and fire the 5.56 round at 3,000 + fps. That would allow twice the rounds in the same space. The rifle should have a butt stock like the M16 that will also be a magazine. The forearm will also be a magazine that will feed the rear magazine through a tube. Both magazines should hold around 500 rounds. The rear of the butt stock should fit over the shoulder and have a second barrel pointing backwards in case the soldier was surprised from behind.. The rifle would have a sighting device (red dot or reflex) looking forward and one looking rearward to aim at any surprise attack from the rear.

The rear firing barrel would be powered by excess gases captured in a chamber during firing. The forward barrel and stored in a chamber. The rearward firing barrel would be loaded from bullet in the pistole grip and powered by gas captured in the chamber. The idea would not be to constantly fire at someone attacking from behind, but to give you time to fire until you could turn around. The downside to this design would be that it could be quite heavy.

Ok this guy wins on the practicality front and I want to buy one. I'm amazed how changing the stock can make new, common or antique (but not rare) firearms look so cool. Amazing.

Pascal Eggert is amazing too. Sweet work.

I also like the Bolo Idea. Hey Hollywood!!! Make a Bolo Movie already!!!! Giant smart AI tanks saving humanity? What more do you need?

If I picture a futuristic gun, I picture something that "folds out" if you will.

Imagine an Inox Vertec Beretta 92, but when you draw it, a holographic sight flips up. Something along those lines. In terms of futuristic, we have some nifty and well designe stuff. But most of where our technology kicks in is when we can get people to place more rounds, more accurately. So optics and aiming devices is where I would go and do my futuristicking. 8)

Revolving carbine, like a Remington, chambered in something like .454 Casull

Mateba already did that with the Grifone, which is good to go as a prop already (for Planet of the Apes, at least).

I think my TRR8, or any Rhino, is good to go as is. Those would be good pistol choices for a movie made by the "black rifle" generation.

What about an integrally-silenced eight-shot top-break auto-revolver (enough features for ya?)? Or a revolver that auto-feeds from magazines-- would definitly look out of the ordinary.
