Gotta find some wood grips

Suggestions?

I was looking at Milt Sparks and
and wonder if the Ebony is wood?

I'd go out this weekend and
shoot it but I'm leaving for
the Anacortes (WA) RUn in a
couple of hours.

Check out Ahrends Grips - I bought mine from Top Gun Supply.

I like these grips because they seem to be slightly thicker than normal wood grips (or at least the ones that came stock on my S&W). I've bought a pair of their 'tactical' grips as well as the standard double-diamond ones.

When I get home later today I'll link up and throw a photo up of what mine looks like.

Here's a picture of mine w/ Ahrends tactical wood grips:

And here's a picture of a Colt I used to own with Ahrends double-diamond wood grips:

I'm partial toward Altamont grips. The Rosewoods are thinner than the Walnut. I prefer the thinner Rosewoods.

A bump since I replaced my triple-posting with actual pictures of some wood grips.

It's amazing how many choices you have for 1911 grips - you can find anything you want for dressing up a gun or making it as functional as you want.

Esmerelda has everything from average grain to presentation grade figuring. Her very best grips run about $100-$130. The thin grip series makes the 1911 extremely comfortable and a feel many prefer over the thicker grips.
