I have a blue 4". It's my favorite revolver. I have shot it more than any of my guns. Congrats. They don't get much better.

Indeed. Very nice. I only have two nickle plated guns, one S&W and one Colt.
It is very nice! I only have one nickel plated revolver...An M-49 Bodyguard.

It’s truly a bit too nice to carry, so I just shoot it on occasion and put the wear and tear on other guns...

Congrats on a most excellent find! I have had several N frames over the years but none as nice looking as that one. Enjoy and thanks for sharing it with us.

.... Man that is a looker, doesnt even appear to have a turn line. Has it ever been shot? Looks like someone took it straight from the factory and just left it in a safe for the last 45 years.

I shot it last Sunday for the first time in my possession. So I know it has had at least 50 rounds of .38 Special and 27 rounds of .357 Magnum. The picture in the OP with the green background is after it was shot.

I really wanted this gun, and was lucky that it came with a very nice presentation case:

Got it to replace my very first gun -- that I sold 35 years ago.
27-2 from about 1977-78

You have an outstanding specimen there! Although it makes me sad because 10 years ago I had acquired a NIB nickel 27-2 but later when I was out hunting for a Colt Python since my gun fund was low I reluctantly had sold this magnificent specimen, foolishly thinking that eventually could find another one but nope never again! Along with a Python the 3.5" nickel M27 is my favorite S&W revolver! However I was fortunate to have found a 5" nickel M27-2 a few years later! Hang onto that "Beauty"!

Your 5" Model 27 would be choice as well though I would be equally happy finding a blued one as well!

So I just have one question. You know that dowel that is stuck through the trigger guard in the top pictures? I see them all over a forum like this. Where do they come from? Am I the only one who doesn’t have a drawer full of them to display my guns?
