This is my first post. Sorry if a similar post exists, I didn't see it for pistols (just revolvers).

I have am going to take advantage of an opportunity to get a HK P7. The seller has 2, in similar condition. He is charging $100 premium for the nickel finish. The pistol may see some use in CC, but primarly will be used at the range.

I am thinking the nickel will show less wear and is more rare, but the blue is preferred for concealed. In this market, what premium if any would you pay for the nickel finish if you bought a P7.

Thanks so much for y'alls feedback and opinions.

I got both so I can't comment. The nickel is staying in the safe. I'm considering carrying the blued once I feel more comfortable with it.

If it is factory nickel it is probably worth the $100. Aftermarket no way.

I would (and did) buy blued. I got my carry gun tefloned now about 10 years back and carry it routinely. Great guns and very reliable.

Were I to do it today? I would hard chrome it.

I would get the nickle and by all means carry it. That's what it's for, but be careful on what cleaner u use. I can't remember which one, (maybe someone will chime in) but it will make the nickle peel. You might even check with the seller and see's if he knows.

My guess it is not factory nickel. It is one of the recent imports which showed wear but were good to go, grade b or higher internally, and where tutoned.

Buy whichever meets your fancy.
