Night sights on a revolver

I'm considering having night sights installed on a fixed-sight K-frame revolver. I really, really like night sights for PD, and about the only reason I keep autopistols is because, for whatever reason, they seem to be much more adaptable to night sights than my beloved 3" K-frames. So, I find a recommendation to have this done by Cylinder and Slide, for a mere $252what: ) for a three-dot installation. A front-sight-only job is $90, which is much more palatable.

Does anyone have any experience with a revolver with a single front tritium sight? How well does that work? Are there discussions I can read by people who have BTDT with such a revolver? Does anyone know another gunsmith that will install 3-dot night sights for less than an arm and a leg?

I was just about to ask the same thing. I just bought my CZ 75, but I'm shooting is just as good or better than my S&W 625. It's the sights, since the CZ has illuminated 3-dot sites and the smith is straight black.

I don't know but I don't think that price is that bad. The last set of Novacks I had put on a 1911 was $275.

Put a set of Meprolights on my daughter's Glock, which I sort of liked.

Have been thinking of throwing a set on a GP-100. Handy that the front sight removes by depressing a spring-loaded plunger and lifting it off.

Interesting that no one else's guns have that feature as standard.

The sight is a 100% improvement over standard sights. Easy to pick up out to 15m in low light. In no light, it is fine within a few meters.

I never liked any rear sight with extra dots or bars on them. The fastest sight combo is a vertical line rear and a dot front, just like those used on express rifles.

Tooltech, Inc, who does the gunsmithing for Trijicon, can put a vertical bar in any rear sight (fixed or adjustable). I believe Trijicon also installs the tritium for XS.

Many of have used this not only on revolvers, also rifles, tips of fishing rods , indicators for dials on equipment and such - right handy.

I personally only paint the front sight. This is what I have done, recommended for folks wanting to "try before they buy" a installtion from someone.

I also have worked with those on a budget, like the elderly and eyes not quite what they used to be. Even the younger folks, like single moms getting back on their feet find it works for them.

Billy, I had a set of Trijicons put on a LWC for ~ 125, so the Novaks seem expensive to me. Kurt, thanks for the tips, I'm off to look for their website.
