nikon specific scopes?

i have a Nikon slug hunter scope that was on a 12ga but i recently put it on a 44mag single shot and finally got it dialed in and now i found a Nikon 2-7-32 nikoplex for $99 i wanted to put a scope back on the slug gun so figured why not but its not slug gun specific. does it matter if its slug gun specific for recoil?

No. The scope will handle it. Slug specific scopes are usually that way due to the reticle being designed for slugs. I have an old (80's) 2.5x Bushnell Banner on my Hastings 870 Slug barrel. It has sent 5 rounds downrange every year for the past 30 years to check zero, and it's still on. Sometimes it got a few more shots in during a given year, if I saw deer...

Agreed, there is no reason that you NEED to have a slug gun scope on the slug gun. That said id probably swap the slug scope back just because....
