I will be needing a scope for a 12ga slug gun and 50cal ML. the shotgun most likely wont be used that much if at all so I'm thinking about this below for the 12ga.

http://www.midwayusa.com/product/52...lt-shotgun-scope-175-4x-32mm-circle-x-reticle

right now the 45-70 is wearing a 3-9-40.

I see midway has several 2-7-32 Burris, Nikon, and vortex scopes on sale so would this be a better fit for a ML or put the 3-9 on the ML and the shorter on the 45-70?

Buy scopes for the guns that need them.
Leave the scopes on guns that have them.
Don't complicate things by overthinking them.

I understand that part, lol. I was just wondering that power would suit what caliber the best? I only want to buy 1 scope and possibly the cheapo bushnell for the slug gun as a backup or loaner.

There's little practical difference in the performance of either scope.
They will both perform beyond the limits of the shooter and the weapons.

There's not much point in putting a 3 X 9 on a ML or shotgun if you're taking it off a rifle with real long range capabilities.

Save some money and buy a better scope later instead of settling for a cheap one now
