The other day I went to pick up some ammo and when I got to the store, I realized I did not have my NJ FID card with me, and was not able to get the ammo. I had to drive home, get the card and then go back.

I don't really like to carry my FID around because if I lose my wallet or something similar happens it will be a major pain to get a duplicate one issued.

Since a NJ FID card is now required to buy pistol ammo, does anyone know if you have to show the store the actual FID or can a copy of it be used?

Thanks

You could always just drive to PA and not worry about it. :)

You have to have an ID to buy ammo in NJ?? That's BS. You ought to be able to buy it off the pallet by the thousands of rounds, no ID, no questions asked like we can out west. If you all know any anti-gun people, please dissuade them from moving out west. Thanks.

You don't need your FID card to buy ammo online. Do what I do, go to Midway USA, Ammunitiontogo.com etc. and buy ammunition privately. The only place you can't buy from is that site ammoman.com, he's in NJ so he won't ship to you. You'd have to take a run down to Burlington and show him your FID.

That's the law in NJ. Go to PA for ammo and help our local govt. stifle gun stores in NJ. They will close one by one.

Serously though: They treat you like a criminal in NJ,CA,FL if your buying a firearm from a shop.

I almost want to go to that one "thug" at the corner or the other "thug" in the alley and buy guns & ammo from of either one of them, its easier!:what:

That was a "joke.":banghead:.... and a bad one at that:barf:

"Everything" is "the law" in NJ.

You could always move back into the US by simply crossing the river, and enjoy the rights we still have here. The only "permit" we have, is a carry permit, and its "shall issue". You dont even need that if you wear it in the open on your belt. You can even carry hollow points in your gun without worry, and there is no restriction on the number of rounds in the mag. You can have a rifle rack in the truck window, and actually have a gun in it, and no one bats an eye. We can have machine guns too. :)

Whats keeping you there? Camden? Newark? Trenton? :neener:

I see online dealers who won't ship ammo or anything to NJ.

This is Centuries policy:

NEW JERSEY CUSTOMERS: No CETME sales. For a C&R license holder to purchase a C&R rifle. A signed written certificate on a form prescribed by the Superintendent of State Police, which identifies the purchaser, their address and FID or dealer number, and states that they are not disqualified from purchase. No C&R handguns to C&R license holders. No High Capacity Magazine Sales over 15 rounds. No Ammunition Sales to Consumer Residents of NJ as State Law Insists that ID be Presented in Person. No sales of firearms which accept hi-capacity magazines. Check for other Local & State laws before ordering.

I am soooo glad I got out of there. :p

Ammunition to Go
Midway USA
Cheaper Than Dirt

All ship to NJ, pistol, rifle, shotgun, even the dreaded heat seeking young inner city minority killing ones

I live in PA but I've been sentenced by my company to work in N.J.; out of state residents can get a N.J. Firearms Purchaser Identification Card; below is the link for an application for the N.J. FP I.D. card; fill this out & give it & $5.00 to the local N.J. State Police barracks for the privilege of buying ammo in N.J.;

Or just go to PA & buy ammo - skeeter_08

Have you thought about reloading? Can you buy primers and powder with out the card? If so you could make your own ammunition.

I would imagine you would need the actual card. I would contact a local gun shop and ask them.
