Christie is simply another east coast progressive and a bully at best. Best thing firearm owners can do at this point support the NRA or other group of your choice, money talks and if 100 million gun owners join the NRA congress will take notice.

I am saying this as an independant voter and i hope i dont ruffle too many feathers around here. Christie is probably our best hope in 2016. A moderate Republican who is "somewhat friendly" to the 2A like Christie has broad appeal to independents. Karl Rove once said "nominate the most conservative guy who can still win."

The fact that Christie is calling for a task force to study the UNDERLYING CAUSES of gun violence instead of jumping on the gun control bandwagon shows that he is not an anti. I spent many years living in NJ and it really is IMPOSSIBLE to understand the political climate of the state unless you have lived there. It is THE most anti gun state in the nation, by leaps and bounds. Christie is just trying to play his political cards right and not appear to be either overly hostile OR overly friendly to the 2a.

I lived there. My entire close family is there. (And the kids are into shooting and encouraged).

And it's a hostile gun environment that Christie fosters and encourages expansion on.

I dont really see an anti-gun Republican getting in anywhere in the next several yrs, but that is just IMO.
