What does this mean? That it won't be heard in the Senate? How would it pass then, only if it was attached to another bill?

WASHINGTON – A state permit to carry a concealed firearm would be valid in almost every other state in the country under legislation the House passed Wednesday.


The Democratic-controlled Senate has no parallel bill. But two years ago, GOP Sens. John Thune of South Dakota and David Vitter of Louisiana nearly succeeded in attaching a similar measure to a larger bill.

This is also the first time I've seen the National Right-to-Carry Reciprocity bill on the front page of a major news organization.

This bill will be sent to the Senate. It doesn't need a companion bill. The Senate will either act on it or not.

I am sure the Harry Reid will push this thru the Senate post haste, and Obama will immediately sign it into law.
